This sweet girl looked just like a baby doll when I swaddled her up and her delicate features and head full of dark hair was so striking. As usual, I completely swooned over the nursery her mama had put together and loved all the light that came into that room! I also loved watching their little pup interact with the new kid in town. We have a yorkie, so I obviously have a special place in my heart for other yorkie families. What a fun time I had documenting your newest family member G family! Thank you for having me!
When the mama at my newborn session is this stunning I just can't help myself from taking a zillion photos! And guys, when you take my attire recommendations to heart, we get such great results! The lightness of her shirt adds to the light, bright feeling of the photo, while the texture gives it interest. And look at that sweet baby girl's smile... I just can't with this photo. It's one of my favorites from all my newborn sessions this year! This family was just precious and I so enjoyed their session. Here's a sneak into the rest of the session:
I've been photographing the G family since their daughter was just a baby. So to watch these two kiddos grow over the years and see them love on their grandparents was an absolute treat. And can we talk about the fog and light?! Gah... I'm a sucker for it, and we got some awesome light that morning. It was hot and sticky, but you'd never know it from these pictures! They are the most beautiful family and such loyal clients. Knowing that they could choose whichever photographer they want and they continue to choose me... well it makes me incredibly appreciative.
I'm sheltering from Irma with the boys at my parents house today, so I figured it was time to catch up on some blogging. This is Sam. Sam was the sweetest, snuggliest (is that a word?) little bud. His big sister was so sweet holding him on the bed and giving him gentle big sister kisses. There's something about watching your children together, and as a parent, I'm not sure there's a better feeling than seeing your kiddos love on each other and truly enjoy each others presence.
Also, this is a funny story, Sam's mom was dropping his big sister off at preschool, the same preschool that our older son attends. It was their first day, and I was in the zone and on a mission to get back in the car and go be productive while he was at school. Sam's mom says, "Hi, how are you?" She's looking straight at me and I am in la la land and honestly thought she was looking at someone behind me. I then reluctantly say hi, and keep walking only for her to say, "Jenny, it's me!" Hahahaha. It dawns on me who it is, finally, and I laugh and say hi and catch up for a minute. Later, I sent her an email apologizing. She had on reflective sunglasses and I truly was out of it! I also never wear my glasses other than when driving, and can't see squat far away because I guess I'm aging, or whatever... lol!
This mama is a friend of a friend. We had never met, but she actually lives just right down the road from me! It was a joy to meet this beautiful new family of 3 (plus a pup). They were relaxed and ready to go with whatever I suggested, which always makes my job easy! And to top it off, her style is so on point. When I walked in James' nursery I swooned so hard. It was so sweet and just perfect for their new little boy. I am so excited because I get to see this family two more times over the next year to capture James as he grows!
There are some babies, and some mamas, that just make my job easy. This mama and baby allowed for some of my most favorite newborn photos I've taken in a while. Baby Emeline was out cold pretty quickly after I turned on my white noise, and her mama was so relaxed and go with the flow. And in addition to them making my job easy, Emeline's daddy was the nicest most doting husband on his wife I've met, maybe ever. And big brother, well he was an absolute ham in front of the camera and I'm in LOVE with these sibling shots. Basically, they were awesome and I loved working with the whole family. So take a look at some of what they allowed me to capture...

This beautiful new family of three was so go with the flow. I was absolutely in love with the nursery sweet baby Callen's mommy put together for her. So many sweet delicate details, just like this new baby girl. What a joy it was working with them and proof is in the pudding, because their photos turned out beautifully!
We took a much needed family vacation to the beach earlier this month with both sets of grandparents. I am SO glad I brought my camera, because, even though we had some crazy weather while there, there was one night with a stunning and dramatic sky and one morning with beautiful light. I am sad, though, that I didn't get any photos of my parents with our boys. It rained so much during their half of the week and unfortunately we didn't get a good opportunity... just means we have to do it next year! My boys are my absolute favorite subjects, and I may be biased, but they are also the cutest! Hope you enjoy these as much as I do. I'm definitely oversharing and including way more photos than necessary because I want them here to look back on as these cuties grow.
S is a dear friend, so when her sister-in-law P contacted me I was more than happy to squeeze them in to get a Mother's Day session for their mother-in-law. These little kiddos were just too precious and it was so so good to see S in person and give her a big hug. I LOVE photographing friends and watching their family grow, and this was no exception. And it was just a bonus to meet P and realize that we live just down the road from one another. It's such a small world! Thank you J family!
