We took a much needed family vacation to the beach earlier this month with both sets of grandparents. I am SO glad I brought my camera, because, even though we had some crazy weather while there, there was one night with a stunning and dramatic sky and one morning with beautiful light. I am sad, though, that I didn't get any photos of my parents with our boys. It rained so much during their half of the week and unfortunately we didn't get a good opportunity... just means we have to do it next year! My boys are my absolute favorite subjects, and I may be biased, but they are also the cutest! Hope you enjoy these as much as I do. I'm definitely oversharing and including way more photos than necessary because I want them here to look back on as these cuties grow.
S is a dear friend, so when her sister-in-law P contacted me I was more than happy to squeeze them in to get a Mother's Day session for their mother-in-law. These little kiddos were just too precious and it was so so good to see S in person and give her a big hug. I LOVE photographing friends and watching their family grow, and this was no exception. And it was just a bonus to meet P and realize that we live just down the road from one another. It's such a small world! Thank you J family!
N and G's mommy contacted me to recreate a photo of their daddy. G just barely still fit in his dad's old outfit and apparently his grandma has a photo of all the boys in their family in this outfit. We had to hurry to get this session on the calendar before he grew out of it! N also fit in a dress that was worn by her mommy when she was her age so we did an entire session in outfits their parents wore when they were little. Isn't that just precious?! I had so much fun in their home trying to recreate the photo and watching them play and be so sweet with one another. Thank you for having me C family!
Talk about scrumptious, this sweet girl was as chill and snuggly as can be. I wanted to eat her up! Her parents were SO much fun to work with during their session, we even had a soundtrack! Her mama is an acquaintance from college, but after hanging out with them a couple of hours it felt like we were long lost friends. I absolutely love when my sessions feel like I'm just hanging out with friends, I swear I have the best job in the world. Thank you so much for having me M family! I can't wait to watch your sweet baby girl grow over the next year!
This sweet girl is one loved lady and was prayed for more than she will ever know. She might as well be my niece, because I truly love her as one of my own. Her parents are my husband's cousin, and his wife. And while they are family, they have also become incredibly dear friends. So, it is an understatement to say how overjoyed I was to be able to document her as a fresh new baby and her family as they grew to four. Her big sister listened so well for the sibling photos that I about died right there. I mean, it's not often that sibling photos at newborn sessions turn out EXACTLY how I had hoped due to all the variables. I mean are these not a complete dream or what?! I love you P family! Thank you for allowing me to capture this precious time in your life. What an honor!
L's mommy contacted me to schedule a package including a maternity session. We were all set and I shot her an email to confirm our location for the maternity session when she informed me that baby L had come a quite early! I was so worried about them and I can only imagine how this new momma felt when baby showed up almost two months early. But, alls well that ends well, because baby L gained weight like a champ and was home before her due date! I was thrilled when her mommy let me know they were home and ready for her big photographic debut. :) And she sure didn't disappoint... sweet girls was sleepy and snuggly and just perfect. Thank you so much for inviting me into your home during this crazy and exciting time in your lives B family! It was an absolute pleasure. And I can't wait for L's one year photos, it will be here before you know it!
Sometimes things just work out. Baby S's mommy contacted me just a few weeks before she was due. I had been booked up, but due to another mom having her baby very early (don't worry everything's okay, and you'll see that session in the next week or so!) I was able to fit the A family in and document their new addition. I like to think things like this are meant to be. :) The A family was just the sweetest most gentle family. Watching Dad hold his new daughter and get emotional made me emotional too. It's easy to forget how big of a deal it is that people allow me into their home during the most vulnerable and monumental occasions of their life. I feel truly blessed to have the honor of document such important milestones. A family, it was absolutely my pleasure to meet you and I so enjoyed getting to know each of you. Big sister S made me giggle more than once and some of the pictures of her with mom, dad, and baby individually are some of my favorites I've taken in a long time.
I honestly can't believe this sweet and beautiful girl is already one! I feel like I just did her newborn photos!!! She was melting me with her precious smile at our session. It was chilly out but you wouldn't know it by her demeanor. She was determined to look as cute as humanly possible! Haha. You are such a sweetie I, can't wait to watch you grow into a big girl!
Mackenzie has been with our family for a year and a half as our sitter and drives Luke to school most mornings so I can work. She has become part of our family and we are SO sad she is already graduating from Tech and entering the workforce. However, even though she is leaving us, we are incredibly proud of her. She already has a full time job lined up and I can honestly say she is one of the most reliable and driven people I've ever met.
Mackenzie brought her bff Annie to the session to help her relax and feel more natural in front of the photos. I loved photographing both of you and hope you enjoyed the session ladies! I hope you love your photos Mackenzie, you are beautiful inside and out!
I always get excited when I book a session with someone I don't know and with whom I have no mutual friends. A million questions run through my mind; How did they find me? Will they like my work? Etc. Well when K booked her newborn session that's exactly what I was thinking. And I HOPE they love their photos of their new little family and baby J, because I think they turned out absolutely divine. J was just so scrumptious and mom and dad seemed like they had been doing this forever. My favorite part was the end of the session when J was "filling up his diaper" (haha!) while laying on his nursery rug and he made about a thousand different faces (and noises!). Babies make the BEST faces and are pretty adorable no matter what they are doing! Thank you so much for trusting me with documenting such an exciting time T family!
